Volunteer position
The Volendam Museum is a cultural history museum recognized by the Dutch Museum Association, where our visitors can discover why Volendam has become the most famous village in the Netherlands and what makes Volendam so special. We welcome more than 20,000 visitors every year from all countries and of course also from our own municipality. We work with museums from all over the country, from small to large national museums. Our museum is run daily by volunteers.
The Volendam Museum asks volunteers to welcome our guests. Would you like to practice your languages or do you just enjoy working with colleagues in the museum for one or more half-days?

Volunteer position
Many of our important pieces from our collection are registered in our computer. New acquisitions and donations are registered in a database. Some of this can even be viewed by fellow museums.
Our extensive photo and film collection also has yet to be captured. If you are good with the computer and are accurate, then this might be something for you. Regina Schilder can tell you more about this.
Carpenter exhibition building
Volunteer position
A new exhibition is set up and set up every autumn. Our decorators build new sets for this and take care of the complete decoration. We can use versatile professionals for this work.
You can work well in a team. You are good at working with different building materials and you are accurate. You are creative to come up with technical solutions yourself.
The exhibition is renovated, especially in the winter months, from November onwards. If you are interested in fun creative assignments in collaboration with our volunteers, Regina Schilder will be happy to tell you more about this.
Always looking for volunteers
The Volendam Museum is almost entirely run by volunteers. Dozens of these work every week in various roles in our museum. To be able to carry out all tasks optimally, we can always use some volunteers.
